Sing a While Longer by Edwin Markham

Has the bright sun set,

   Has the gale grown stronger?

Still we’ll not grieve yet:

We will sing a while longer!

Has our youth been met

   By Time the wronger?

Let us not grieve yet,

Let us sing a while longer!

Is the world beset,

   Do the sorrows throng her?

Let us not grieve yet:

Let us sing a while longer!

  1. The little bird is sleeping Gathering strength For events to come

Her daughters mind is chaos Every day a new delire Avoiding normal duties And wondering why she is here

The screaming and the violence Is fear because of change Her father and her mother Have plans to arrange

Dates have been chosen For the priory Where she will find peace And hopefully harmony

The little bird did see a sun set For a little while Until she tried to approach When it felt like ice With no smile

Confused and feeling crazy She called the doc for help As her mind was also chaos Was beginning to swell swell swell

Medication is taking the throbing Away Of too many things at once she has to be strong for her daughter Then singing again For a while May come
